Gujarat: Six killed, 10 injured in road mishap

Six persons, including two children, were killed and 10 others injured when a car collided with their auto-rickshaw near Chanasma town in Patan district today, police said.

"The car rammed into an auto-rickshaw coming from the opposite direction between Vadavali and Manipura villages on Chanasma highway in which four people died on the spot and two at hospital later," the Station House Officer (SHO) of Chanasama police station Mahendra Chaudhary to PTI.

All the deceased, travelling in the auto-rickshaw, were going to attend a marriage party near Vadavali village, police said, adding, the deceased were related.

The victims were identified as Kuldip Jhala (3), Krushnapal Jadeja (6), Ranjitsinh Jhala (25), Dinesh Jhala (30), Madhubha Jhala (28) and Jitendra Jhala (26), they said.
 

Police has registered a case against the driver of the car who fled from the spot after the accident.
