Half-dozen houses burgled in one night in Etah

As many as six houses bore the brunt as thieves allegedly decamped with gold and cash worth lakhs at Purav village under Malawan police station in the district on Wednesday night.

The thieves entered the house of one Lok Singh and fled with a gold chain, two gold rings and Rs 35,000 in cash, police said here today.

The house of Satyveer was also looted of Rs 50,000 in cash and jewellery, they added.

Vinod, Pramod, Ramladete and Jeevanram from the neighbourhood also suffered loss worth lakhs of rupees as the thieves took gold and other valuables, police added.

An FIR has been lodged in this connection. No arrest or recovery of stolen gold or valuables has been made so far, police said.
