Thieves broke into a village temple near Musiri, about 45 km from here, and decamped with utensils and other articles worth about Rs one lakh, police said today.
The theft at the Amman temple in Aaravayee came to light this morning when the priest went to open it, they said.
The temple door was found broke open, they said adding investigations were on.
