Hand grenade left at pradhan's home

Unidentified persons left a hand grenade in front of the residence of a village pradhan in Imphal East district today, police said.

The grenade was discovered in front of the house of Lourembam Indira, pradhan of Moirang Kampu Khewa Mapal, this morning.

Later, the bomb squad of Manipur police retrieved the grenade and detonated it at a safe place.

Indira said she had no clue why or who had left the grenade before her house and she faced no monetary demand or any form of intimidation since she became a pradhan.
