Hastinapur sanctuary land grab: Six more under scanner

District authorities have ordered inquiry against six Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers for their alleged involvement in Hastinapur land grab scam.

The officers were previously posted as Sub-divisional Magistrates in Jansath and one of them, Devender Singh, has been booked in the land grab case, Additional District Magistrate Ramkishan Sharma said today.

The other five officers, including JP Gupta, Baburam, Radhey Shayam Mishra are facing inquiry, after the District authorities had received complaints against these officers in connection with the land grab case, Sharma said.

A case of land-grabbing also came to light against Asha Mishra, wife of Radhey Shayam Mishra, he added.
 

23 cases have been registered so far against the alleged encroachment of government land in 27 villages in the district in connection with Hastinapur sanctuary land scam.

District authorities had found that sugarcane crops had been grown on 169 bigha of encroached government land during checking in 27 villages.
