HC asks principal secy to inform it about steps taken for filling up vacant posts in Education Dept

The High Court Wednesday directed the (education) to be present in the court and inform it about the steps taken by the for filling up the vacant posts in the Department.

The high court also directed him to file a personal affidavit responding to the issues raised by an amicus curiae.

The amicus curiae has raised the issues regarding failure of the in filling up vacancies in schools, implementation of the Right to (RTE) Act and compliance of the orders passed by the and the high court.

The division bench comprising Acting and Justice passed these orders on a petition taken up suo motu by the high court

on a complaint filed by the students of a government school in Mandi regarding non-availability of proper staff in their school.

In its earlier order on August 29, the high court had directed the to file an affidavit, furnishing the information regarding the number of schools district wise, number of sanctioned posts lying vacant subject wise and number of posts for which requisition stands sent to the Staff Selection Commission.

However, during the course of hearing, the court observed that the affidavit filed by the was not in consonance with its earlier order on August 29.
