HC orders notice to TN govt on boy suffering from tumour

Madras High Court today ordered issue of notice to the Tamil Nadu government, taking suo motu cognisance of a media report about a five-year old child, who had developed a cancerous tumor after being vaccinated in Erode district.
The division bench comprising Justices S Nagamuthu and Anitha Sumanth passed the order after it took note of the news item published in a Tamil daily, which said Anbarasu of Kumarapalayam in Erode district was administered vaccine at the age of one year, which later transformed into a cancerous tumor.
The bench directed the Health Secretary to file a reply on or before March 27 and posted the matter to that date for hearing.
