The petitioner submitted that he had scored 190 marks out of 350 in the test conducted, on February 21 this year, for getting posted as Assistant professor in colleges in the state. The cut off mark specified for Backward Classes was 192.
As there were five irrelevant questions in part three of the question paper, the petitioner said he had attended all five of them and yet he was not allotted ten marks for them. He further said his actual score was 200 out of 350 and he should have been called for certificate verification.
When the petitioner had applied for re-evaluation and certificate verification, officials declined his application on the grounds that he did not secure the required cut off marks.
Hence, the petitioner prayed the court to intervene and direct the officials to re-evaluate his paper, allot cut off marks due for him and call him for certificate verification besides staying the publication of the list of eligible candidates.
