Justice S S Sateeshchandran allowed petitions by Jayamala, astrologer P Unnikrishna Panikkar and his aide seeking quashing of the proceedings against them.
Justice Satishchandran said in the absence of material showing that the accused had a deliberate and malicious intention to outrage the religious feelings of any class of people, their prosecution was not justified.
The court had earlier stayed the prosecutions proceedings on a plea by Jayamala.
According to the prosecution, pursuant to a conspiracy with Jayamala, Panikkar during 'devaprasnam' (an astrological examination) from June 16-19, 2006, made certain disclosures that a woman had entered the sanctum sanctorum of the temple and touched the idol of lord Ayyappa.
The 52-year old actress also sent a communication to the Sabarimala Executive Officer in June 2006 claiming that during her prime she had touched the idol when she was pushed into the sanctum sanctorum by surging crowd of devotees.
The chargesheet was filed in a court in Ranni in Kottyam district by Kerala police in December 2010 accusing Jayamala and others of 'deliberate and malicious act' to outrage the religious feelings under sect 296 of IPC.
Women devotees between 10-50 years are not allowed inside the Sabarimala temple as per customs.
