Heroin smuggler arrested for killing friend

A suspected heroin smuggler has been arrested for allegedly killing his friend on his birthday, the police said today.

On May 24, Sachin (18), a student of class XI, was killed by his three friends--Amarpal, Habib, Riyaz--on his birthday, SP (Rural) Bareilly Khyati Garg said.

"The victim and Amarpal were good friends, and were involved in smuggling of heroin, which they sourced from Riyaz and Habib," the SP said.

Amarpal has been arrested and 280 gm of heroin has been seized from his possession.

The officials said further investigations were underway.
