The High Security Number Plate (HSNP) has been installed in over three lakh vehicles in Bihar, a minister said today.
Replying to a short notice question by the JD(U) MLA Rajeshwar Raj, Transport Minister Vrishan Patel said that in compliance with the Supreme Court of India order the HSNP has been installed in over three lakh vehicles and the process was ongoing in the state.
Once the HSNP has been made mandatory, it was an offence of the part of the vehicle owners or users to write designations and other related identity like police and press on the number plates, he said.
In all, there were 35 lakh vehicles in Bihar, Patel said.
