High-speed winds affect train movement in Rameswaram

High-velocity winds in Pamban area forced Railway authorities to detain trains at Rameswaram station today.

Chennai-bound Sethu Express was detained at Rameswaram with winds blowing at a speed of over 55 km per hour across the Pamban bridge, officials said.

The Rameswaram-Madurai passenger was cancelled, they added.

The sea off Rameswaram coast was turbulent and waves measuring more than ten feet battered the sea coast of the this island.
