State-run Hindustan Copper (HCL) today reported a nine per cent dip in its net profit for the October-December quarter at Rs 69 crore, mainly on account of increased expenses.
The Kolkata-based firm had clocked a net profit of Rs 76 crore in the corresponding quarter last fiscal.
The copper producer's total income from operations rose by 37 per cent to Rs 427 crore in the third quarter of the current fiscal compared to Rs 311 crore a year ago period.

Other income of the firm was recorded at Rs 17.46 crore during the quarter as against Rs 69.54 crore a year-ago.
Total expenses of the firm went up by 31 per cent to Rs 353 crore form Rs 269 crore a year earlier.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 61.85 apiece, up 0.08 from the previous close on the BSE.
