Hindustan Zinc (HZL) has decided to extend the term of Chief Executive Officer Akhilesh Joshi by two months.
"The board of directors has extended the tenure of Akhilesh Joshi...As CEO and whole-time director from February 1, 2014 to March 31, 2014," according to a filing to the BSE today. Joshi's term was to have ended today.
The government, which sold a majority stake in the nation's largest zinc maker to Anil Agarwal-led Vedanta Resources in 2002, plans to sell its remaining stake in the company.

The Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs approved the sale of the government's residual stake in Hindustan Zinc on January 20. It holds a 29.5 per cent stake in the company.
The shares of the company closed at Rs 129.45, up 0.35 per cent on the BSE.
