Heatwave conditions prevailed in most parts of Haryana and Punjab with Hisar being the hottest place in both the states at 43.5 degrees Celsius.
Hisar's maximum temperature settled two notches above normal, while Ambala also had a hot day at 40.5 degrees Celsius.
Karnal's maximum settled at 39.6 degress Celsius, a MeT Department official said here.

Chandigarh too had a hot day at 40.3 degrees Celsius, one notch above normal.
Ludhiana was the hottest in Punjab recording a high of 42.8 degrees Celsius, up three notches.
Heatwave also prevailed in Amritsar which recorded a maximum temperature of 42 degrees Celsius, up two degrees, while Patiala too braved the hot weather at 41 degrees Celsius.
