A home guard attached to a woman police station here has been arrested for taking bribe for registering a dowry-related case, police said today.
The accused, Sachin, was arrested yesterday while accepting Rs 2,000 as bribe for registering a case of a dowry victim at the woman police station, Sub Inspector (city) Santosh Kumar Mishra said.
He has been booked under relevant sections of the corruption act, police said.
According to the victim, the guard had initially demanded Rs 10,000 for registering the case.
