Hry govt proposes to set up 20 ITIs: Vipul Goel

Skill Development and Industrial Training today said that during 2018-19, the has proposed to establish 20 government Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs).

Goel was speaking to reporters after the presentation of budget 2018-19 by in the ongoing session of the state Assembly here today.

Goel said that on the pattern of the Pradhan Mantri Kaushal Vikas Yojana' for skill development of the youth, Skill Development Mission has been launched by the which has a target to impart training to 1.15 lakh youth during 2018-19.

He said that Vishwakarma Skill University was being set up at Dudhola district Palwal.

However, it has already started functioning from a temporary campus at Gurugram.

He said that the state budget 2018-19 will prove very significant towards providing employment to youth as Rs 657.94 crore has been proposed in this budget for the Skill Development and Industrial Training as compared to Rs 458.71 crore in the revised estimates of 2017-18, thereby registering an increase of 43.43 per cent.

Goel said that the has reached out to the unemployed with succour under the the 'Saksham Yuva Yojana'.

He claimed that Haryana has become the first state in the country which aims to provide 100 hours of paid work every month to the educated unemployed youth.

Meanwhile, Goel said that Haryana Agri-Business and Food Processing Policy 2018 is under formulation, which aims to attract an investment of Rs 3,500 crore and to generate 20,000 new job opportunities in this sector.

He said that the policy endeavours to give impetus for progressive growth in in the state.

Further, by establishing efficient and backward linkages, it aims to create greater employment opportunities across the entire food value chain, thus promoting agriculture and rural prosperity, he said.
