Indian arrested in Germany for decades-old murder: police

An Indian man was arrested today at Frankfurt airport over a in 24 years ago, German and Scottish police said.

The 51-year-old suspect had just arrived from when he was detained on a European arrest warrant for the 1993 of Ansar Shah in southwest

Shah, 36, was stabbed to death in a car park, according to British media.

"It is anticipated that proceedings to return the man to Scottish jurisdiction will take place in due course," Scottish police said in a statement.

The accused faces life in prison if convicted of the crime.

The arrest came after a joint operation between Scottish authorities and enforcement partners across including Europol, French and German authorities, and the National Crime Agency.
