'Initiatives by GST Council will address exporters' issues'

Exporters body FIEO today said the GST Council's initiatives, including introduction of e- wallet, would bring relief to traders.

Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO) President Ganesh Kumar Gupta said the refund of GST for July by October 10 will address the liquidity concerns of exporters.

"The decision to introduce e-wallet will provide a permanent solution to the liquidity problem of the export sector," he said in a statement.

He said that the government has also resolved the problem of merchant exporters by putting a duty of 0.1 per cent on any supply from manufacturing to merchant.
