Inter-district gang of miscreants busted in Punjab

Police busted an inter-district gang of miscreants, involved in incidents of arsons, robberies and firing, by arresting its five members, including the

kingpin.

The miscreants, who were arrested yesterday, were identified as (the kingpin), alias Lamba, alias Gogi, Deepak Kumar alias Deep, and alias Sachin, (SHO) said.

He said that these miscreants had attacked and injured Harman of Bhullarai village and set on fire his motorcycle on March 27 here this year.

They snatched a gold chain and motorcycle from Charanpreet Singh Walia of Phagwara after attacking and injuring him, he said.

Police had recovered the snatched bike from them, he said.

had also confessed to have fired at Daljit Singh of Jassomajara village and injured him on April 8 this year, the SHO said.

A case under Section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code already stood registered against him and his accomplices, including of Chak Maidas village, in this connection in the station of SBS Nagar (Nawanshar) district, he said.

All five were today produced in a local court which gave one-day police remand to kingpin but sent four others to judicial custody, the SHO said.
