Sleuths of the Income Tax department today raided the shop and residence of a leading jeweller of the city.
Raids were simultaneously conducted here at his jewellery shop at College Road and residence at Gurdev Nagar, officials said.
The raids were conducted under the supervision of Rohit Mehra, Joint Commissioner of Income Tax (Investigation).
The department is tight-lipped on the results of the ongoing searches but officials said they are expecting recovery of a large amount of undisclosed income from the operation.
