J&K govt extends winter vacation in schools in snowbound areas

The Jammu and Kashmir government today extended winter vacations till March 12 in schools in snowbound areas of the Kashmir valley.

According to government order issued here, the schools located in snowbound areas of Machil, Jamgund, Keran, Gurez, Karnah, Kodara, and Hajibal Gogaldara of Kashmir Division shall observe extended winter vacations upto March 12, 2017.

The vacation has been extended in view of apprehensions of avalanches and road connectivity issues in these areas. The schools shall reopen on March 13.
