The city police is working on reviving the surveillance system with an aim to check traffic violations.
"We are going to revive the system of keeping check on vehicles violating traffic rules through CCTV cameras," Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Haidar Ali Zaidi told PTI.
"Presently, we have CCTV cameras installed at JLN road and MI road and Tonk road will be covered with the cameras in near future," he said.

Tenders for installing the cameras on Tonk Road, one of the busiest roads in the city, has already been done by Jaipur Development Authority, he said.
The DCP, who recently took over, further informed that additional policemen will be deployed at the control room to monitor the screens for traffic rules violation.
"We will serve a notice to the owner of the vehicle, which was found violating traffic rules, on the basis of its registration number for seeking information about the driver and the driver will be penalised as per the motor vehicle act," he said.
This will not only help us catching all the violators in those areas but our policemen will also be on ease and more focused on making smooth traffic flow, he added.
