Press Trust of India New Delhi
Prices of jeera and cardamom brown drifted at the wholesale kirana market today due to slackened demand.

However, other spices moved in a narrow range in limited deals and settled around previous levels.

Traders said subdued demand against higher supplies led to the decline in jeera and cardamom brown prices.

In the national capital, jeera common and best quality were down by Rs 100 each to Rs 11,100-11,400 and Rs 14,400-15,000 per quintal, respectively.

Cardamom brown-Jhundiwali and Kanchicut also met with resistance and shed Rs 10 each at Rs 1,410-1,470 and Rs 1,510-1,650 per kg, respectively.

Following are today's quotations per quintal:

Ajwain (per kg) 15,500-20,000, black pepper (per kg) 750-900, betel-nut (kg) 180-200, cardamom brown-Jhundiwali (kg) 1,410-1,470 and cardamom brown-Kanchicut (kg) 1,510-1,650.

Cardamom small (kg): Chitridar 695-745, cardamom (colour robin) 675-735, cardamom bold 725-745, cardamom extra (bold) 895-945 and cloves 840-890.
