Jeera prices drifted lower by Rs 190 to Rs 18,495 per quintal in futures trading today as participants reduced their positions, tracking a weak trend at the physical markets.

Marketmen said, the fall in jeera prices was mostly attributed to weak demand against persistent arrivals in the spot markets.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December slided by Rs 190, or 1.02 per cent to Rs 18,495 per quintal, clocking an open interest of 5,457 lots.

On similar lines, jeera for delivery in January plummeted by Rs 185 or 1.01 per cent to Rs 18,200 per quintal, depicting the business turnover of 3,807 open lots.
