Press Trust of India New Delhi
Jeera prices advanced by 2.06 per cent to Rs 19,345 per quintal in futures trading today as participants engaged in enlarging positions, taking positive cues from spot market on surging demand.

At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, jeera for delivery in December gained Rs 390, or 2.06 per cent, to Rs 19,345 per quintal with an open interest of 4,713 lots.

Likewise, the spice for delivery in November traded higher by Rs 310, or 1.64 per cent, to Rs 19,185 per quintal in 7,815 lots.

Analysts said expanding of positions by traders on the back of strong demand in the physical market against restricted supplies from producing belts, mainly kept jeera prices higher at futures trade.
