Senior IAS officer Prabhas Kumar Jha today took over as Union Parliamentary Affairs Secretary replacing Afzal Amanullah on his superannuation.
A member of the 1982 batch of Indian Administrative Service from Uttar Pradesh cadre, Jha had served in various senior positions in the Central government.
His last assignment was as Special Secretary and Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food and Public Distribution.
He also served as Joint Secretary (Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances).
Jha, born in 1958, is a Physics Graduate, a press release by the Parliamentary Affairs Ministry said.
