Jharkhand govt planning to increase budget of Khadi Gram Udyog

Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das Thursday said his government is planning to increase the budget of Khadi Gram Udyog Board with an aim to strengthen the rural economy.

"We are planning to increase the budget of Khadi Gram Udyog Board in the 2019/2020 budget, so that they can train the women of Sakhi Mandal in stitching of school uniform (among other things)," Das said after inaugurating the 'Rashtriya Khadi Saras Mahastov' here.

The chief minister said 80 lakh school uniforms is required and the trained women could stitch the clothes in their panchayats and provide them to the schools.

He also stressed to focus on dairy farming, apiculture and poultry to double their income as envisaged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi that farmers and the poor double their income by 2022.

 

The chief minister said in 2014 only 18 per cent of the households in Jharkhand had toilets but now hundred per cent households have toilets.

Das appealed to the people to use clothes made of khadi so that the poor in the villages would get employment.

Thanking the people for giving a stable government, Das said in the next 5 to 7 years Jharkhand will be among the developed states.

"Any economist will tell you that Jharkhand, with its abundant mineral resources, has the potential to become a developed state ...," Das said and warned the people against divisive politics.
