Senior BJP leader and MP Murli Manohar Joshi met Union Urban Development Minister M Venkaiah Naidu in Delhi to discuss development schemes for the industrial city.
Joshi met Naidu yesterday to apprise him of the civic issues faced by people in his constituency, a statement by the the city MP's office here said today.
He informed the minister that the city faced the problem of bad roads and that it was a major obstacle for industrial development in the city.
Joshi pressed for the start of a metro rail service in the city for better connectivity besides raising various other issues related to development.
The statement said Naidu assured Joshi that a team of officials will visit Kanpur after October 2 and will submit an action plan for the development of the city.
