Justice D H Waghela was today sworn in as the Chief Justice of Orissa High Court.
Governor Dr S C Jamir administered the oath of office to Justice Waghela.
Prior to this appointment, Justice Waghela was officiating as the Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court.

With Justice Waghela joining the bench, the strength of judges in the state high court went up to 22, including five additional judges, thereby completing the sanctioned strength at present.
Born to a family of artists and artisans in Rajkot on August 11, 1954, Justice Waghela completed LLM from Saurashtra University in 1977 at the age of 22 and began practicing law the following year.
He was elevated to the bench of Gujarat High Court as an additional judge in September 1999. He was made Chief Justice of Karnataka High Court in March 2013 and in same capacity he was transferred here in April this year.
Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, law minister Arun Sahu and the only minister from the district Debi Prasad Mishra, DGP Sanjiv Marik and senior officials of the State were present at the swearing-in ceremony.
