'Mission Indradhanush', the Centre's scheme to cover unvaccinated and partially vaccinated children in selected districts across the country, would be implemented in Karnataka from tomorrow, Health and Family Welfare Minister U T Khader said today.
Addressing reporters here, he said Karnataka was the first first state to launch the scheme in the country.
The scheme is designed to prevent seven vaccine preventable diseases like diphtheria, whooping cough, tetanus, polio, tuberculosis, measles and hepatitis B.
The state had identified 5200 areas and 659 booths to vaccinate children and pregnant women.
"There are 18,201 unvaccinated or partially vaccinated pregnant women, while 68,143 children too fall under this category in 5200 areas," he said.
