Sixth seed Vijay Kannan of Tamil Nadu and qualifier Aryan Goveas of Maharashtra entered the singles semi-finals of the Khar Gymkhana All India men's open tennis tournament today.
Kannan endured a strong challenge at the fag end of the second set before ousting fourth seed Suraj Prabodh of Karnataka 6-3 6-4, while Goveas got past Faisal Qamar of Rajasthan 6-2 6-4 in a battle between qualifiers.
In the semi-finals, Kannan will clash with Kunal Anand of Delhi who overcame qualifier Shahbaz Khan 0-6 6-2 6-2, while Goveas will face third seed Haadin Bava who beat fifth seed Anvit Bendre 6-3 6-3 in an all-Maharashtrian quarterfinal tie.

The doubles quarter-finals were more eventful with unseeded Jayesh Pungliya and Armaan Bhatia shocking top seeds Anvit Bendre and Abdullah Shaikh, and unseeded Goveas and Rohan Samant stunning second seeds Sahil Gaware and Kunal Vazirani 7-5 6-3.
