Secretary of State John Kerry is heading to Switzerland next week to attend a conference on Syria and speak at the annual World Economic Forum.
State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki said today that on his five-day trip, starting January 21, Kerry will participate in a UN-hosted conference in Montreux on Syria. The gathering is aimed at negotiating a political transition to end the crisis in Syria.
At the World Economic Forum in the Swiss ski resort of Davos, Kerry is to deliver a speech about the US commitment to the Middle East and its engagement in the region.
