Press Trust of India Chandigarh
Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar today hailed the Centre's move of accepting the 14th Finance Commission's recommendations for a substantial hike in share of states in central taxes.

Thanking Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Khattar said that the acceptance of recommendation of transfer of 42 per cent of divisible pool to the states including taxes, grants, etc, was in the true spirit of cooperative federalism.

"The decision to significantly increase the states share will enable the states to utilise the enhanced resources according to the felt needs of the residents of the state," he said.

Khattar also welcomed the decision to give up the distinction between plan and non-plan allocations.
