Kiefer Sutherland's 'Flatliners' reboot to release in 2017

Reboot of "Flatliners," with Kiefer Sutherland signed on to return, will release in 2017.

The movie also stars Ellen Page, Diego Luna, Nina Dobrev, James Norton and Kiersey Clemons, reported Variety.

The 1990 movie starred Sutherland, Julia Roberts, Kevin Bacon, Billy Baldwin and Oliver Platt as medical students exploring near death on the examination table until the consequences began to threaten their lives.

Swedish director Niels Arden Oplev is helming the reboot from a script by Ben Ripley.

Laurence Mark and Michael Douglas are serving as producers.
