In a joint search operation by a police investigation team and jail officials, six knives and 16 mobile phones were seized from the district prison here, where two convicts were killed in a clash between rival gangs on Monday.
Police, however, said these weapons were not used in the murders during the clash and search for them was still on.
Other items seized from the prison yesterday included seven memory cards, mobile batteries, sim cards, lighters, electric heaters, mobile chargers, electric wire and chilli powder, police said.
A case has been registered at the Barke police station.
Notorious criminal Madoor Isubu and his associate Ganesh Shetty were murdered inside the prison by their rival gang and police suspect that the attack was pre-planned.
A case has been registered against five persons in this connection and investigation is in progress.
