As cooperation of the public is required for better implementation of development projects, the administration in Odisha's Koraput district has decided to receive continuous feedback from the people on various issues by organising consultation camps at panchayats.

"The administration should be sensitive to the issues of people and steps taken for addressing them while implementing various welfare schemes of the government. Confrontation will not help in solving problems. Hence, it has been decided to conduct awareness-cum-consultation camps at panchayats," Koraput district Collector Jaya Kumar V said.

The administration has fixed 5th and 21st of every month for organising the camps and the BDOs of the blocks concerned will conduct the camps in at least two panchayats of the block every month.

Field staff of various departments like education, health, rural water supply and sanitation, women and child development, block and Southco among others have been asked by the administration to attend the camps.

While public consultation on development works will be taken up at the camps, response of people on the functioning of various welfare schemes will be recorded for better implementation of the schemes, said the collector.

Officials said people can put down their comments on the functioning of educational institutions, teachers' attendance, midday meal, anganwadi centre, MMR/IMR, MGNREGA, Indira Awaas Yojana, electrification of the villages, drinking water and public distribution system at the camps.

The recorded feedback of the public will be examined and genuine problems addressed. Problems requiring immediate intervention will be addressed on a priority basis, the Collector said.
