A daily wage labourer was today sentenced to life imprisonment by a mahila court here for murdering his wife at Pollachi in 2015, suspecting her fidelity.
The prosecution case was that Murugesan always used to abuse his wife for constantly speaking over her cell phone.
Suspecting her fidelity and also having affair with some one, he strangled her and bashed her head on the wall of their house on February 15, 2015, killing her on the spot.
When the case came up today, judge A Manimozhi sentenced Murugesan to life imprisonment.
He also slapped a fine of Rs 5,000 on him, failing which he would have to undergo imprisonment for another three months.
