Legends tennis: 16 players advance to the main draw

Top 16 players--two players from each group--qualified for the main draw of the Investec Elite Legends Championship to be held at the MCA tennis Courts in Bandra Kurla Complex.
The matches were played in round robin format with top two players with maximum points qualifying for the main draw.
In Group F,Ajeeth dominated the proceedings winning all 3 ties.
Ajeeth took down Shiv winning the first game by a narrow 7-6, 5-7, 7-1 margin.
He faced another tough opponent in Subhash who but managed to hold him beating him 7-6, 7-6, 7-4.
Ajeeth took down his final opponent Uttam with an identical scoreline of 7-5, 7-5, 7-5 to advance to the singles main draw.
Meanwhile, Subhash who beat Shiv and Uttam convincingly fell prey to Ajeeth but managed to qualify for the main draw, a media release issued here said.
In the Group A tie, Vinayak dominated the proceedings winning all his ties scoring 59 points defeating Gordon L and Rituraj in straight games.
Mohan in spite of losingtwo of his three matches managed to make the main draw as he lost all his matches by a close margin taking his score tally to 57 points after 3 matches and finishing 2 points behind the group leader Vinayak, the release added.
