The weatherman today forecast light to moderate rain in different parts of West Bengal for the next two days.
There was little or no rain in the state in 24 hours from yesterday morning, as the monsoon remained subdued.
The weather remained hot and humid causing discomfort to the people as there was possibility of such weather to continue for the next couple of days in most parts of south Bengal.

However, in north Bengal there was a possibility of moderate rains in the sub-Himalayan districts of Darjeeling, Cooch Behar and Jalpaiguri, the MeT department said.
Kolkata recorded the maximum day temperature at 35 degrees Celsius, three notches above average, it said.
