Lightning kills boy in Odisha

A seven-year-old tribal boy was killed and another person injured after lightning struck them in Balasore district today, police said.

The incident took place at Churian village under the jurisdiction of Simulia police station, a police officer said.

The lightning struck on the minor boy while he was swinging on the second day of "Raja" festival at his village.

Police identified the body as that of Parban Singh.

The injured person was identified as Jatia Singh, a resident of the same village.

The body was sent to Bhadrak District Head Quarter Hospital for post-mortem.
