Lok Ayukta raids uncover Rs 9.7 cr illegal assets

Lokayukta police today unearthed illegal assets to the tune of around Rs 9.7 crore during raids in Bangalore, Bidar, Davangere and Gulbarga on 19 premises belonging to government servants.

Criminal cases under the Prevention of Corruption Act have been registered against the officials, Lokayukta police said, adding the raids were conduced on "credible information".

The officials possessed assets disproportionate to their known sources of income, it said in a statement.
