Lokayukta police files FIR against Adichunchanagiri seer

A case was registered against Balagangadharanatha and others on a private complaint accusing them of having violated rules by getting a property granted to a temple trust transferred in the name of the mutt.

The FIR was registered on the direction by the special Lokayukta Court which had ordered a probe into the issue and directed the police to submit its report by July 13.

The private complaint alleged that the seer and others had violated rules by selling 10 guntas of land (one gunta is about 1,086 sq ft) out of 16.1 acres granted to Ramalingeswara Trust for Rs 54 lakhs.
