"Lt Gen Parnaik called on Vohra at Raj Bhavan this evening and during their hour long meeting, they discussed various matters relating to security management, including recent reports about increase in infiltration from across the LoC," an official spokesman said after the meeting.
Claims about increased infiltration, especially from Uri sector in north Kashmir, are being contested by the J&K police prompting the Army to reassess the figures and work out a mechanism for providing more authentic information about the entry of terrorists into the state.
The recent figures of about 100 terrorists having slipped into the Kashmir Valley this year seems to be an exaggerated figure, highly-placed sources in the state home department had said.
