Lyricist Vairamuthu hospitalised for food allergy

Veteran Tamil film lyricist Vairamuthu was Friday admitted to a private hospital for treatment of food allergy.

Hospital sources said that poet, staying at a private hotel here, suffered allergic reaction and was rushed to the hospital.

After treatment, he was keeping well and would be discharged shortly, they said.

The poet has been recently accused of sexual harassment by some women, including singer Chinmayi Sripaada, as part of the #MeToo movement.

He has, however, rejected the charges as false and said he was ready to face them in court if they filed a complaint.
