: City police today launched a 24X7 Whatsapp helpline to assist people in distress.
The helpline can be used to reach out to police in case of an emergency or trouble by sending a code.
Launching the initiative, City Police Commissioner Shylesh Kumar Yadav claimed that police help would reach the caller within five minutes.

Police personnel have been provided with 40 two wheelers and 20 four-wheelers exclusively for attending to distress calls.
He also said that 2,278 complaints had been received so far on Whatsapp.
The system conveying distress situation had controlled the incidents of chain snatching considerably, he added.
