Maha BJP demands all-party meet over drought crisis

Press Trust of India Mumbai

State unit spokesman Madhav Bhandari said the ruling coalition partners Congress and NCP were busy fighting amongst themselves, when they should have prepared an action plan to tackle the drought.

He claimed less than 25 per cent of water was left in dams and reservoirs in the state.

Shortage of drinking water and failure of crops is a serious concern, Bhandari pointed out.

He demanded that water conservation projects be undertaken to store rain water in the next few months.
