Major rivers in Uttar Pradesh including the Ganga, the Sharda and the Ghaghra were flowing close to the danger mark today as several places in the state received rains.
The Central Water Commission said that Ganga was flowing close to the red mark at Fatehgarh while the water level is rising all along its course from Fatehgarh to Kanpur.
The water level of Sharda river at Palia Kalan in Kheri was rising and flowing above the danger mark. The Ghaghra river is also flowing near the danger mark at Elgin Bridge area of Barabanki, in Ayodhya, and Ballia's Turtipar, it said.

Safipur, Ankinghat received 5 cm of rainfall each, while the rainfall in Akbarpur was recorded at 4 cm and 3 cm each in Churk and Bhinga areas of the state, the MeT Department said.
Kannauj, Bindki, Bareilly, Mauranipur and Gunnaur received 2 cm of rains each.
The Quano river is also flowing near the red mark at Chandradeep Ghat in Gonda, the commission said.
The weatherman has predicted rain and thundershowers very likely over the isolated places in the state.
