Man arrested for assaulting woman over refusal to pay donation

City police today arrested a security guard accused of assaulting a woman after she refused to pay donation for Ganesh festival celebration.

Dasari Vinod Kumar trespassed into the house of Pannalal Bhati on September 2 and demanded donation for festival.

When Bhati's wife refused, he allegedly beat her up, kicked her on stomach, thus causing danger to her life and outraging her modesty, police said.

The woman is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Tukaramgate police have registered a case against him.
