Man arrested for attempting to set wife, mother-in-law afire

A man was arrested today for allegedly attempting to set afire his wife and mother-in-law at Budhana town here.

According to a complaint lodged with the police, Israr visited his in-laws at Budhana and pressurised his wife to go along with him but she refused. He then set the house on fire in which his wife Gulista and mother-in-law Kurina suffered serious injuries, Circle Officer Sudhir Tomar said, adding the mother-duo are undergoing treatment at a hospital.

Gulista and Israr were married two years ago but the former is living with her parents for months after some dispute with the latter.
